Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae.(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper)
Signature : Mimasaka Kuni Tsuyama Ju Kanesaki
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 63.4 cm or 24.96 inches.
Sori :1.9 cm or 0.74 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.68 cm or 1.05 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.85 cm or 0.72 inches.
Kasane : 0.6 cm or 0.23 inches.
Era : Edo period, around Genroku era(1688-1704).
Shape : Regular size Katana.
Jigane : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. There are Chikei.
The Jigane is beautiful.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha, tight and bright Hamon.
Boshi is round shape.
Special feature: The first generation of Tsuyama Ju Kanesaki started from Keicho era(1596-1615).
Kanesaki lived in Mimasaka(Okayama prefecture).
He used good quality Bizen iron. We guess that this blade was Shinto,
the 2nd generation of Kanesaki. Because there is no Utsuri.
If there are Utsuri, the blade looks like Rai Kunitoshi.
Koshirae : Efu Tachi Koshirae.
