Shinto: Jyo saku: Yamashiro province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Oumi Kami Minamoto Hisamichi belongs to Saijyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 61.0 cm or 24.01 inches.
Sori : 2.0 cm or 0.78 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.40 cm or 1.33 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.63 cm or 1.03 inches.
Kasane : 0.69 cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Edo period, around Shotoku era(1711-1715).
Shape : Wide and thick blade with Sori. Nice shape Katana.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach.
This is beautiful Yamashiro's Jigane.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Gunome Midare with thick Nioikuchi.
In Ha, there are Sunagashi and Kinsuji.
Special feature : Oumi Kami Minamoto Hisamichi, his name is Mishina Kinshiro. His first signature is Hisatsugu.
He was adopted by Hisamichi first generation.
They made many Gassakuto(collaboration swords).
Only hisself sword is few in number.
This blade is wide and thick with large Sori.
The Jigane is clear. The Hamon is Gunome Midare with thick Nioikuchi.
There are Sunagashi and fine Kinsuji. This is very nice work.
