Shape : It is cut shorten katana but the signature Hida no kami
Fujiwara remains on the tang(Ujinobu is cut shorten).
The katana has regular width and thickness and there is no much difference
on the Motohaba and Sakihaba. It is long Kissaki with much traits of Keicho Shinto sword.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well graiend iwht jinie attached. There is fine Chikei work.
Hada pattern could be viewed clearly.
Hamon : Nie Deki is with edgy gunome midare. Ther eis much ups and downs in the ha.
There is Sunagashi and Kinsuji work. Boshi is round end and Hakikake style.
Special feature : Hida Kami Ujihusa was working early Edo Keicho era at Owari province.
Generally he made long Kissaki with nice elegant sword.
There are many well known Owari sword smith such as Wakasa Kami Ujifusa,
Hidano Kami Ujinobu Nobutaka, Ujisada and Masatsune.
Owari sword smith made quite rustic sword.
This sword reminds of Murasama. The Hamon is almost same style both side.
The Jigane is strong feeling with Chikei. Unfortunately this blade is Suriage
but the characteristic Hamon has a rustic charm. You can easily judge that blade is Hida kami Ujifusa.
Koshirae: Owari style Koshirae
Tsuba: Round shape copper tsuba with Shakudo covered around the rim.
Saya: Unique Nuri saya
Fuchikashira:Iron plate with pattern engraved and inlaid.
Menuki: Shakudo plate with snake design engraved.
Kojiri: Shibuichi plate with wave and shell design engraved.
Historical Background: Major earthquake attacked the country at At Keicho 9th Year(1604).
During Keicho 5th year, Battle of Sekigahara has break out.
Tokugawa Ieyasu has triumphed over the visiting team and at Keicho 8th year(1603)
Edo shogunate was established.
