This Kanetsuna belongs to Jyo-Saku ranking.
The blade was polished by good polisher.
Habaki : Gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 28.6 cm or 11.3 inches.
Sori : 0.2 cm or 0.08 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.55 cm or 1 inches.
Kasane : 0.41 cm or 0.16 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : The blade is rather wide and sakozori style.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada and Mokume hada mixed with jinie attach with shirake Utsuri appear on the Ji.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha based notere and gunome midare mixed. Boshi is roud shape hakikake style.
Special feature : The founder of Kanetsune started from Nanbokucyo period and continued to late Muromachi period.
I think the blade is late Muromachi period because the blade is rather wide and sakizori style Tanto.
(shinogi line is the style of going up)
The jigane is quite well nice Jigane with shirake utsuri style healthy blade.
Generally Sue seki style sword or Tanto are not good reputation.
It means 70% of Mino school swords are not good reputation because the blade has some Kizu and dark hamon.
But 30% of swords are well Jignae and Hamon.
We can say this sword is nice fantastic Jigane and also temper line which is typical high grade Mino school Tanto.
Koshirae : Aikuchi Koshirae.
Fuchikashira : On the iron plate, wheel and plant are engraved.
Saya : On the Kin Nashiji saya, family aoi crest are painted.
Menuki : Some plant design is engraved by copper plate.
