Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon paper) (Consignment sale)
Signature : Namihira Muneyuki
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku, Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jojo saku ranking.

The blade was polished.
Habaki :
Blade length : 70.0 cm or 27.6 inches.
Sori : 2.27 cm or 0.89 inches.
Mekugi : 2  
Width at the Hamachi : 2.98 cm or 1.17 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.04 cm or 0.80 inches.
Kasane : 0.68 cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Around Muromachi period Eiroku era (1558~1570)
Shape : Ubu Nakago, balaoced sword with Bohi engraved on both sides. Long Kissaki Eiroku style sowrd.
Jigane : Koitamehadawith Mokume mixed, Jinie attached with Shirake Utsuri appear on the surface.
Hamon : Nie-deki Suguha with Sunagashi, Kinsuji working well in Hamon. Boshi turns Hakikake style sich like a flame.

Special feature : Namihira school started from heian period and continued up to end of Edo period or even more, up to nearly millennium.
This sword has signature engraved and very rare for smith of Namihira school.
The blade looks like Enju but soft feeling in Jigane and clear Utsuri is even more forged well then Enju. I think this is one of the best work of

Koshirae : Higo style Koshirae.
Saya : Gray Saya with clouds pattern engraved.
Tsuba : Round iron Tsuba with some design engraved. Mid Edo period.
Menuki : Dragon or MIzuchi carved on Shakudo plate.
Fuchi-kashira : Kojiri : Silver Ishimeji plate.
