The blade was polished.
Habaki :Silver single habaki.
Blade length : 74cm or 29.13inches.
Sori : 2.0cm or 0.79inches.
Mekugi :  1
Width at the hamachi :3.6cm or 1.42inches.
Width at the kissaki: 3.15cm or 1.24inches
Kasane : 0.72cm or 0.28inches.
Era : Modern
Shape: It is wide(3.6cm) and thick katana. Bohi is engraved on both side of the ha. It is incredible work with O-kissaki.
Hamon: Nie deki gunome midare with mixture of choji midare/ Ashi is well attached and sunagashi and kinsuji works appearing. Boshi is gunome midare with sharp kissaki.

Special feature : Akamatsu Taro Kanetsugu is one of a very popular modern swordsmiths who lives at Yatsushiro in Kumamoto pref. He was born in 1951 and learned under his father Kimura Kaneshige. Kanetsugu's brothers are also femous swordsmiths.
Akamatsu Taro Kanetsugu got Nyusen prize 9 times.
He was pointed as traditional craftsman from the Kumamoto prefecture. He was a son of swordsmith Kimura Kaneshige.
He was always making like this gigantic sword. He was born Syowa 26 year.
Yashiro Jyu Yoshitsugu. He was a student of the Tanigawa Moriyoshi and got the Nyusen prize and Doryokusyo prize.
This blade is Gassaku which was made by Kanetsugu and Yoshitsugu together.
Akamatsu Taro Kanetsugu is one of a very popular modern swordsmiths who lives at Yatsushiro in Kumamoto pref. His real name is Kimura Kanesada. He was born in 1951 and learned under his father Kimura Kaneshige.
He is one of the students of Akamatsu Taro. The Akamatsu Taro school uses original Tamahagane for making swords so it is not difficult to see their characteristic from the jigane. Kanetsugu mentioned by himself the blade as Kiyomaro Utsushi(copy of Kiyomaro)
In Hamon, there are many sunagashi and also kinsuji work.
Akamatsu Taroo school sword makers head of the school Kanetsugu and other students
cut the signature Akamatsu on the top of the name Kanehiro, Kanemitsu, Kaneteru and Kaneyuki. These sword makers are well repotted as cut well swords.
Especially good swords are engrave on the Tang as Kiyomaro utsushi.
This work is magnificent with large kissaki.
