Sue Koto: Saijo saku: Ise province.
Sayagagi: Ise koku Muramasa(Mumei)
Around Eisho era, blade length is 69.4cm by Dr. Kanzan in December 1972
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This sword belongs to Saijo ranking.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki : Solid gold habaki(50g).
Blade length : 69.4 cm or 27.32 inches.
Sori : 1.9 cm or 0.74 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.39cm or 1.33 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.42 cm or 0.95 inches.
Kasane : 0.63 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Bunki, Eisho, Oei and Tenbun era.
Shape: Wide and rather thick, Ookissaki balde.
Jitetsu: Ko-Itame Hada well grained with fine Jinie attach.
There Chikei. greatest Jigane.
Hamon: Ko-Nie Deki, from the Hamachi is Suguha and then Gunome Midare.
The Hamon is same style on both side. In Ha, there are many Sunagashi and Kinsuji.
Boshi is Midare Komi Yakisage style.
Special feature : Muromasa was working at Ise Kuwana province which is called Yoto Muramasa.（specter sword)
Grand father of the Tokugawa Ieyasu Hirotada was assassinated by Muramasa and his son Nobuyasu was
ordered to Seppuku and killed by Muramasa.
Ieyasu himself was injured by Muramasa Yari, so Ieyasu has a vehement hatred of Muramasa.
So Tokugawa Syogun issued impose the ban for holding Muramasa.
Many Daimyo changed the blade to another signature by removing one signature like this blade.
Some Daimyo who dislike Tokugawa Syogu liked Muramasa and collected.
The students of the Muramasa are Masashige, Masazane and so on.
I think The Hamon of the Muramasa is very big differen from other sword maker's
The Hamon is square shape gunome midair and same hamon on bit sides of the blade.
In case of the Muramasa, even if the signature removed, the value is not changed a lot compare original signature sword.
