Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Kanesada belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 47.4 cm or 18.66 inches.
Sori : 1.1 cm or 0.43 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.29 cm or 1.29 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.26 cm or 0.88 inches.
Kasane : 0.64 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : It is regular width and thickness with long kissaki.
On the Ji, engraving of Kurikara Hori is applied however there is wear abrasion.
Jitetsu :Itame hada well grained with jinie attached.
Chikei work is appearing. It is strong jigane.
Hamon : Nie deki sharp gunome midar ewith muc hsunagashi appearing
in the ha. The boshi is midarekomi and sharp end.
Special feature : Kanesada has contiued until the third generation.
The most famous is the 2nd generation Izumi no kami Kanesada.
There are some smiths calling themselves Kanesada on the collateral line.
This work is made by the collateral line Kanesada.
The became slim but the strong jigane and Kurikara Aibori is still remaining.
It is black jigane with much nie work. It is at first glance Shizu work.
The hamon is rustic togari gunome midare.
Koshirae : Higo koshirae. It is excellent koshirae.
Tsuba :Mokko shape shakudo tsuba with pattern engraved the rim is silver. Ko-Kinko
Fuchikashira : Shakudo with some kizaki(filed) area. Fuchi is gold. Higo school
Saya : Higo saya
Menuki 0: Solid gold. Shishi design is engraved.
Kozuka : Shakudo plate with wave and dragon design engraved and inlaid with gold.
Kogatana : The signature is engrave "Muneoki"
Bashin: Iron plate covered with gold.
