This Awataguchi Omi Kami Tadatsuna 2nd belongs to Jyou-jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki :gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 71.6 cm or 28.18 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.19 cm or 1.25 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.18 cm or 0.85 inches.
Kasane : 0.72 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Edo period Genroku era.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick with suitable sori nice looking shape.
Jitetsu :Koitame had well grained with jinie attach beautiful oosaka jignae(texture)
Hamon : Hrom the hamachi suguha hamon and then vivid cyoji midair hamon
and also sakasa cyoji midair like Aoe school which very active and sunagshi ,
kinsuji sactter in Hamon. Boshi is round shape.

Special feature : First generation Awataguchi Tadatuna was started at Osaka
and 2nd generation his son succeeded 2nd generation.
At Genroku era, he changed his name to Ikkannsi Tadatsuna.
He is very skillful swordsmith making Doranba and also gunome midair with thick nioikuchi.
He also made engraving on the sword. Swords collectors aspire Tadatsuna.
This sword is compose Ashinaga Cyoji midair with a lot of sunagashi, kinsuji
which is one of the best quality blade.

Koshirae :
Tsuba :On the sykaudo nanako plate, autumn flowers are engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira :On the syakudo nanako plate, autumn flowers are engraved with gold color.
Saya : black roar saya.
Kojiri:on the syakudo plate, some designe are engraved with gold color.
Menuki : On the syakudo plate, autumn flower are engraved.

Historical background: Tenmei 4th, (1748)in Edo castle,Tanuma Okitomo
who is a son of the Tanuma Okitsugu was killed by Sano Masanobu
by using wakizashi named 2nd generation Oumi Kami Tadatsuna .
Developing a feeling of opposition against Tanuma Okitsugu who was succeeded
many financial recovery for Edo Bakuhu but he received a lot of money under the table.
So ,many some Daimyo ageist his work. It is reported many Daimyo collected
2nd generation Tadatsuna. Muramasa also can say the same thing.
