Explanation: Dr.Kanzan sensei wrote the sayagaki the length is 58.3cm and masterpiece blade.
Shinto:Jyo-jyo saki:Oowaza mono cutting test :Settsu province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This Sakakura Gonnoshin Terukane belongs to Jyo-Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: gold foiled double Habaki.
Blade length : 58.3 cm or 22.95 inches.
Sori : 1.4cm or 0.55 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi :3.07cm or 1.20 inches.
Width of Kossaki: 2.15cm or0.84 inches.
Kasane : 0.63 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape The blade is wide and thick the long lenth like sword.
Jigane:Koitame had well grained with jinie attach beautiful Oosaka jigane.
Hamon:Niedeki gunome midair with thick nioikuchi and active up and down style
In Hamon, there are many sunagashi and kinsuji ,ash work.
Boshi is thick deep nioikuchi round shape.
Special feature :Sakakura Gonnoshin Terukane succeeded from 1st generation Kanesada.
He worked under the 1st generation Kanesada and became adopyrd son.
First he said Echigo Kami Kanesada but government official ordered not allowed to
use official title (Kami) so he has to oblige to use Sakakura Gonoshin Terukane.
Generally in case using Sakakura gonnosin, he put the nengo on the back of the tang.
But this sword doesn't use Nengo.
This sword is obviously genuine sword and masterpiece blade.
