This Bizen no suke Fujiwara Munetsugu belongs to Jojo saku ranking.
The blade was polished .
Blade length : 69.99 cm or 27.55 inches.
Sori : 1.2 cm or 0.47 inches.

Width at the hamachi : 2.94 cm or 1.15 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.16 cm or 0.85 inches.
Kasane : 0.74 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Meiji era.(1869)

Shape : Regular sized Katana.
Jitetsu : Very tight Ko-itame, covered in little Jinie. It is very beautiful Jitetsu.
Hamon : Nie based. Gunome midare and Choji midare are mixed.
Nioikuchi is deep and Ashi is soft.
Special feature :Bizen no suke Munetsugu (Koyama Munetugu )
was born at Mutsu Shirakawa province as a son of Koyama Munehira.
He was called Soube.
He was hired by Shirakawa Matsudaira Daimyo family.
He moved to Kuwana province. Thereafter, he moved to also Edo in 1831.
Then, he was already very famous for his cut well blades.
And many Samurai ordered swords.
He was allowed to use signature "Bizen no suke" in 1845.
He was the one of the top quality swordsmith in late Edo period.
And his swords were without any faults.
This blade has long Ashi in Ha, and blade quality is excellent.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : On the round iron Tsuba, openwork is engraved. And plants design is inlaid with gold.
Fuchikashira , Kojiri: On the iron plate, leaves and vines are inlaid with gold.
Saya : Ao-gai chirashi Saya.(Blue shell decoration. )
Menuki : On the iron plate, rope design is engraved.
