Signature : Mumei (Unji)
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold and Silver foiled double Habaki.
Blade length : 68.3 cm or 26.88 inches.
Sori : 3.0 cm or 1.18 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.85 cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.90 cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 0.75 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Late Kamakura period
Shape : Ubu mumei(Original tang) with deep sori nice looking elegant shape.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada with mixture of Mokume hada and some flake of jinie attached.
There are delicate chikei seen. The jigane is wonderful.
Hamon : Chu suguha with kogunome midare hada.
Kochoji midare with ashi, yo well attached.
There are yubashiri well mixed sunagashi and kinsuji work are well attached.
There are some burn down in the mi-ne.
Special feature : Unsho, Unji and Unju lived and forged sword at Ukan in Bizen province.
From the same First Chinese character used their signatures, they are called Un-rui, means in the category of Un.
They are also called Ukan school from the neme of a place they lived.
One theory holds that Unji was a son of Unsho.
Three dated swords of Unji forged in the Showa era (1312-), Bunpo era (1317-)
and Kenmu era (1334-) still survive and they make clear the period of his activity.
Kochoji midare with ashi, yo well seen and the boshi is round and unji.
Kochoji with mixture of ashi, yo well attached. There is a characteristics of Unji.
It is also rare to see the nakago in ubu style. with only one nakago hole.

Fuchi: Shakudo, Kashira: Black horn.
Menuki: Kirin is engraved with gold color.
Saya: Black color Saya.
