Width at the hamachi : 3.25 cm or 1.28 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.26 cm or 0.89 inches.
Kasane : 0.76 cm or 0.3 inches.
Era : Early Edo period.
Shape : It is wide and thick shape with some sori. Kissaki is long ended.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached. It is clear and nice jigane.
Hamon : Nie base with suguha from the hamachi. There are gunome choji mix burned toward the kissaki.
There are many activities in the ha such as sunagashi and kinsuji.
Boushi is notare loose line with brush up end.
Special feature : Awataguchi Oumi Kami Tadatsuna was called Mandaiyu and got the title of the Ikkansai and Oumi Kami.
This wakizashi is an excellent piece with nice long choji ashi which is one of the characteristics of Ikkashi Tadatsuna.
The regretting part of this sword is that half of the signature is scraped off.
However, it is still not difficult to identify that it is Oumi no kami Tadatsuna.
It is 59cm long which is almost katana size wakizashi.
