The blade was polished.
Blade length : 19.3cm or 7.59 inches.
Sori : No Sori
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.21 cm or 0.87 inches.
Kasane : 0.68 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Late Edo period to Early Meiji Period.
Shape : It is regular width and thickness. It is small yet thick and magnificent shape tanto.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached. It is clear jigane.
Hamon : It is suguha from the hamachi and gradually becomes choji midare. It has gorgeous up and down
hamon.
Special feature : First generation Yokoyama Kaga no Sukesada has engraved his signature Tomonari Gojyu Rokuddai Son
and the second generation has engraved the signature Tomonari Gojyu Hachidai Son.
His real name was Shunzaeomon.
He gets adopted by Shichi Beemon Sukesada family Yokoyama Shikano suke Sukemori.
He made swords with NIoi Deki with gunome and mixture of choji midare in unique style.
This piece is typical Yokoyama Sukekane piece.

Fuchikashira : Iron plate with pattern engraved and inlayed with gold.
Saya : Samegawa
Menuki : Silver plate with warrior design engraved.
Historical background : Hanseki Houkan-the return of the land and people from the feudal lords to the Emperor.
