Kasane : 0.75 cm or 0.3 inches.
Era : Showa period During war time.
Shape : It is wide and thick with some remaining of the ubu ba. It is extremely fine condition piece.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached, It is clear plain stle jigane.
Hamon : Konie deki with mixture of choji midare with gunome midare mixed.
Nioiguchi is deep and ashi soft end. There are much activities seen in the ha.
Special feature : Kurihara Hikosaburou Akihide was born in Meiji 12th year in Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture.
He was former member of House of Representitive. He has opened a training school at his Japanese garden inside his house in Akasaka Kiyokawa cho.
He has invited Kasama Shigetsugu and 50 or more student and has bought up many
well known swordsmith such as National Treasure of Japan Miyairi Shohei, Amada Akitsugu and Mukansa sword smith Yoshihara KUniie.
This piece is Kurihara Hikosaburo (Kurihara Akihide) piece and it was comparably a long sword at that period.
Before the Great East Asia War, Kurihara Nobuhide was the top smith followed by Horii Toshige, Takahashi Yoshimune, Shibata Ka, Miyaguchi Ikkansai Kazuhiro, Takahashi Sadatsugu, Yoshihara Kuniie and Komiya Kunimitsu.
Kouki Ni sen Roppyaku ni nen is same as Showa 17th year （1942).
He was said to be the most excellent sword smith at the time.
