The blade was polished.
Blade length : 56.6 cm or 22.28 inches.
Sori : 0.8 cm or 0.31 inches.
Mekugi: 3
Width at the hamachi : 2.86 cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.78 cm or 1.09 inches.
Kasane : 0.51 cm or 0.20 inches.
Era : Middle Muromachi period.
Shape : This blade is rather wide Osuriage-Mumei Wakizashi with very long Kissaki, and little Sori.
Jitetsu : Itame works with Jinie and Chikei attach. It’s rather textured Jitetsu.
Hamon : Nie based, Gunome midare and Togari-ba mix.
There are Tobiyaki above Monouchi. Boshi is Midarekomi and tight Kaeri style.
Habaki: Gin-kise double Habaki.
Special feature : There are some swordsmith who engraved the
signature “Kanenobu“ in Shigazeki school and Naoe school.
I think this blade is Kanenobu of Shiga-zeki school.
This blade has very long Kissaki and nice shape.
This blade will be better, if we did Nuguinaoshi polish. (Polishing fee is JPY 20,000-)
There are a few small rough skins on Shinogi-ji, but it is inconspicuous.
Historical background: In 1489, Ashikaga Yoshimasa made Ginkaku-ji
temple in Higashisyama of Kyoto.
Koshirae :
Tsuba : On the round shaped iron Tsuba, there is silver and brass inlay of Ume flowers.
Fuchikashira : On the Shakudo nanako plate, Ume flowers and Kabuto are engraved with gold color.
Saya : Black Roiro Saya.
Menuki : On the Shibuichi plate, horse is engraved.
