The blade was polished.
Blade length : 71.5 cm or 28.14 inches.
Sori : 1.6 cm or 0.62 inches.

Width at the hamachi : 2.67 cm or 1.05 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.65 cm or 0.64 inches.
Kasane : 0.55 cm or 0.21 inches.

Era : Early Kamakura period 800 years old
Shape : It is standard size graceful tachi. It is well curved classical tachi figure.
It may be observed as a sword that is made earlier than Kamakura period.
Jitetsu :Itame wood pattern surface with mixture of wood grain mixture.
Hamon : Thin straight suguha temper line with some loose nie crystal grain.
There are some nijyuuba
Nakago: Oosuji chigai file marks. The signature is engraved deep and thick on the
back side of the nakago. Although it is quiet piece, it is appealing.
Special feature : Kanetsugu is one of the representing swordsmithes of Koaoe.
This piece is Suguha style with konie or small crystal particles well attached.
There are many activities in the cutting edge such as yubashiri or a nie like
the shape of drop of water. It looks more simple compared to Kobizen pieces.
