The blade was polished.
Habaki:Gold Double Foiled Habaki
Blade length : 72.6cm or 28.58inches.
Sori : 2.6cm or 1.02inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi : 3cm or 1.18inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.98cm or 0.78inches.
Kasane : 0.61cm or 0.24inches.
Era : Nanboku-cho period.
Shape : This sword is O-suriage mumei sword.
It is wide and regular thickness katana.
Jitetsu : There is mixture of O-itame hada with jinie attached.
The hada is clear and hada pattern is clearly seen. It is original jigane.
Hamon : Consisted in nie structure, it is suguha style
with mixture of gunome midare with mixture
of kogunome. Ashi, yo, sunagashi and fine kinsuji is attached.
Special feature : Hojyu has been successful from Kamakura period via Muromachi period.
Most of the piece have clear jitetsu and hadame pattern is also clearly seen.
It is at first glance a simple and plain sword but nevertheless very interesting piece.
Jigane is rare Hokkoku-mono(Northern province) jigane.
The hamon is suguha structure with some nijyuba with sunagashi mix.
