Wakizashi in Shirasaya (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

For Uchida Masamichi

The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold Single foiled habaki
Blade length : 40.45 cm or 15.92 inches.
Sori : 0.96 cm or 0.37 inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.94 cm or 1.15 inches.
Kasane : 0.54 cm or 0.21 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : It is wide and thick wakizashi with two streak
of hi engraved. There is a sori at the Kissaki.
Jitetsu :Itame hada well grained with jinie attached, The hada is clearly seen.
Hamon : Constructed in nie structure, gunome midare,
deep nioiguchi with some active kinsuji and sunagashi work. It is round end.

Special feature : Suishinshi Hideyo was a son-in-law
of Suishinshi Masahide and has learned forging sword under Masahide.
His style is Ko-Gunome Midare and has many Sunagashi and Kinusuji.
Some his blade looks like Naotane.
This blade is nice shape Hirauchi Wakizashi. This is also in good condition.
