Signature: Bishu Osafune Morimitsu first generation.
Ouei 28 nen 10 gatu hi (October,1421).
Middle Koto:Jyo saku ranking:Oowazamono cutting test high ranking:Bizen province.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki : Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 28.8 cm or 11.33 inches.
Sori : 0 cm or 0 inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi : 0.23 cm or 0.09 inches.
Kasane : 0.46 cm or 0.18 inches.
Era : Early Muromachi period. 1419(591 years ago)
Shape : The blade is regular sized nice looking shape.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada and mokume hada mixed with jinie attach and chikei work beautiful nice texture.
Hamon : Koniedeki gunome midare and Choji midare mixed with ashi, Yo, small sunagashi and kinsuji work.
Boshi is togari round shape.
Special feature : Bishu Osafune Morimitsu continued 2nd generation.
This Tanto is first generation of the son of Tomomitsu who was called Shuri no suke.
Morimitsu and Yasumitsu are the top ranking swordsmiths of early Muromachi period.
The most different feature of other sword makers is beautiful jigane.
Morimitsu and Yasumitsu made many Sunnobi tanto made with Swords.

Tsuba :On the shakudo nanako plate, some shells are engraved with gold color hamidashi stub.
Fuchikashira :On the shakudo nanako plate, horse and a stick also battledore are engraved.

Menuki : Pine needles and Koma are engraved.
Kozuka : On the shakudo nanako plate, Kabuto and Maedate are engraved with gold color.

Historical background: 1419 Ouei 26, Ouei no Gaiko(battle between Chosen and Tsusima island).
