Width at the hamachi : 1.62 cm or 0.64 inches.
Kasane : 0.60 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Middle Edo period.
Shape : It is very rare Sasaho style sword. The nakago part is shaped as dokko.
I have never seen such piece before.
Jitetsu : Koitame had well grained with jinie attached. The jigane is clear.
Hamon : It is gonome midare style around the hamachi and gradually becomes suguha.
The boushi is round end.
Special feature : It is nie base hamon with nijyuuba and sunagashi mixed. The blade reminds Yamato characteristic.
It may be used in the temple or shrine.
The color of the rust in the nakago is very nice. It seems that this ken was used well.
From the first glance, it gives us an impression that it is an ancient piece but from the well grained jigane and hamon,
it can be identified as late piece from Edo period.
It is very rare piece indeed.
