The blade was polished.
Blade length : 67.2 cm or 26.45 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.90 cm or 1.14 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.90 cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 0.65 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Nambokucho period. 14th century.
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick oosuriage mumei(cut shortened).
The shape is shinogi-zukuri katana with longish kissaki, iori-mune.
The tang keeps good condition tinged with indescribable nice iron color with patina of age.
Jitetsu :Itame had well grained with jinie attach and chikei work bistable to see the texture.
Hamon : Nie-deki. Regular gunome-midare includes ashi, yo and sunagashi.
Boshi: Hakikake-boshi.
Special feature : It is generally believed that Sadatsuna the First was a son of Sekisyu Naotsuna.
Naotsuna has been counted among Masamune-juttetsu, the best brilliant ten pupils of Masamune in Soshu.
Sekishu province, present Shimane pref. had been prospered by exporting iron.
Using good quality iron, the clan forged excellent swords for generations.
The Jigane is mixed up with Itame had and mokume had with chikei.
