Shape : This blade is wide and thick Tachi with deep Sori.
Nakago is Suriage Mumei.
Jitetsu : Itame works very well, with Jinie attach.
There are Shikare style Utsuri on jitetsu.
There are some small flaws and rough skin.
Hamon : Nie based, Suguha. Some parts are not clear.
Boshi is round shaped.
Special feature : Ko-Naminohira was a swordsmith group in Satsuma province.
The founder of this school is Masakuni who came to Satsuma province from Yamato province.
Masakuni and his son Yukiyasu are famous in Ko-Naminohira school.
And Yasuyuki and Ieyasu are famous also.
This school’s characteristic is massive Tachi style shape.
This blade has some small flaws and rough skin, because this blade is very old.
But the blade shape is very nice Tachi style shape in Kamakura period, and almost Ubu.
Historical background: At the end of Kamakura period Shochu no Hen
(battle between Emperor Godaigo and Bakuhu)
Emperor Godaigo failed in the overthrow of the kamakura Shogunate and Godaigo’s aide Hino Suketomo was banished.
