This sword Sosyu Ju Yasuharu belongs to Jojo saku ranking.
The blade is polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki : Gold foiled single Habaki.
Blade length : 37.6 cm or 14.8 inches.
Sori : 0.9 cm or 0.35 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.18 cm or 1.25 inches.
Kasane : 0.56 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : late Muromachi period Eiroku era. (AD1558~1570)
Shape : The blade is wide and thick Mitsumune style and Sakizori Hirauchi Wakizashi.
On both sides of the blade, Bo-Hi engraved.
Jigane : Itame-hada and Mokume-hada mixed with Jinie attach and also Chikei work.
Texture can be seen well on Jigane.
Hamon : Niedeki Gunome-midare Hamon and Ashi scatter with thick Nioikuchi and soft Habuchi.
Boshi is small round shape and long Yakusage style.
Special feature : Soshu Ju Yasuharu was making Soshu-den style swords at Odawara with Soshu Tsunahiro and other swordsmiths.
According to authority, Yasuharu has been given Daimyo Hojy Ujiyasu gave his Kanji character in name 'Yasu' and He changed his name to Yasuharu.
Especially This sword is fantastic Sosyu Jigane well grained itame and Mokume hada. The blade is healthy without Kizu and flow.
Also the blade has just only one Mekugiana.
The style of the Boshi is Komaru and long Yakisage style.
