(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku, Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword Oumi Kami Minamoto Yoshihiro belongs to Jo saku ranking.
The blade is polished.
Habaki : Gold colored copper single Habaki.
Blade length : 72.4 cm or 29.2 inches.
Sori :1,8cm or 0.71 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the Hamachi : 2.83 cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2,04 cm or 0.8 inches.
Kasane : 0,71cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Edo period after Enpo era (1673~)
Shape : The blade is having standard width and thickness with balanced curve and Kissaki nice looking shape.
Jigane : Koitame-hada well grained with Jinie attach and clear texture.
Shinogo Ji texture : Itame hada with masanagare like old Koto style.
Hamon : Niedeki round shape Gunome Midare Hamon with Sunagashi working in Ha. Boshi turns round shape.
Special feature : Oumi Kamo Yoshihiro the first generation started to forge blades around Enpo(1673~1681) at Ise province, and the second generation at Kyouho (1716~1735).
I think the signature is fine but as the blade is consignement sale from other exhibitor, we can not guarantee for NBTHK Hozon paper.
From the price of the blade, this sword is very suitable for Iai practice.
If you want Koshirae that would fit to the blade, ¥100,000 will be added to the price. (We will find the Kosirae that would match to the size so the sword fittings may not be choosed)
