This sword belongs to Jo saku ranking.
The blade is polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled single Habaki.
Blade length : 69.2cm or 27.24 inches.
Sori : 0.8 cm or 0.31 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the Hamachi : 3.0 cm or 1.2 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.27 cm or 0.9 inches.
Kasane : 0.67 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Edo period Keio era. (1867)
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick with small sori and long kissaki. Shinogiji is wide.
Jigane : Koitame-hada well grained with Jinie attach clear nice Jigane.
Hamon : Niedeki small Choji midare and small gunome midare moxed with Ashi and Sunagashi scatter. Boshi turns round shape.
Special feature : Masanobu was working at Late Edo period who was a grandchild of the Suo Masayuki and studied from Suishinshi Masahide. The blade is typical Masahide style Koto blade. Hamon looks like Rai school.
Historical background : 'Ee ja nai ka', showers of charms suddenly started and citizens of Kyoto started to dance and sing a song, and this occurred to every where in Japan. I understand our description does not make sense but such movement happens very often in Japan in each periods.
