This sword belongs to regular saku ranking.
The blade is polished.
Habaki : Silver foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 53.1 cm or 21.0 inches.
Sori : 1.1 cm or 0.43 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.64 cm or 1.04inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.05 cm or 0.81 inches.
Kasane : 0.57 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : The blade is suriage and regular width and thickness.
Jigane : Itame-hada grained with Jinie attach and some kizu caused by battle in WW2.
Hamon : Niedeki Togari Gunome-midare and Gunome-midare mixed.
Special feature : The signature is not genuine.
From the Jigane and Hamon, the sword was made at Mino province around late Muromachi period.
On Jitetu, there are some Kizu which must be caused by fighting during WW2.
I think the owner of this sword has kept so long time as his family treasure and carried this sword to the warfront.
