This Bishu Osafune Iesuke belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold Single Foiled Habaki
Blade length : 34.8 cm or 13.70 inches.
Sori : 0.4 cm or 0.15 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 2.85 cm or 1.12 inches.
Kasane : 0.51 cm or 0.20 inches.
Era : Muromachi Oei 12th Year(1414)
Shape : It is Shobu tsukuri shape with Bo-hi engraved.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with mixture of mokume hada.
Jinie is well attached. Utsuri work is appearing in the ji.
Hamon : Konie deki kogunome midare with mixture of choji. Koashi is attached. Boshi is sharp turn back style.
Special feature : Bishu Osafune Iesuke is said to be the student of Omiya Morikage.
The outstanding Jigane is no different to the big two Oei Bizen sword smith Morimitsu and Yasumitsu.
Alike those smithes, the Boshi hamon is turning back sharp as a candle wicks.
This Oei Bizen Morimitsu has top quality jigane. It is splendid gunome choji hamon consisted in nie work.
Such Oei Bizen swords is not easy to see in the market nowadays.
