Wakizashi (Sunnobi-Tanto) in Shirasaya with Koshirae (Guarantee for passing NBTHK Hozon Shinsa)
Signature : Mumei (unsigned) attributed as Sue Seki school.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku, Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jo saku ranking.
The blade is polished.
Habaki : Copper gold color single habaki.
Blade length : 31.0 cm or 12.2 inches.
Sori : 0.4 cm or 0.16 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.87 cm or 1.13 inches.
Kasane : 0.84 cm or 0.33 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period (around 1560)
Shape : The blade is wide and thick with Sakizori style.
Jigane : Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach, Masa-nagare and the texture appears very well.
Hamon : Niedeki Togari Gunome Midare. Boshi is round shape Hakikake style.
Special feature : Jigane is Itame Masanagare and texture can be seen very well with Higaki Nakago as a characteristic of Seki swordsmiths. The blade was forged around late Muromachi period.
Koshirae :
Saya : Black Isimeji Saya.
Tsuba : Rim raised up on Mokko style Iron tsuba with a small snail carved on.
Menuki : Japanese persimmon is carved with copper and gold color.
Kozuka : On Shakudo plate, sparrow on the branch are engraved. The signature is mentioned as Hirochika.
Fuchikashira : A pieses of Shogi, the Japanese style chess are painted with gold color.
