Tanto in Shirasaya with Koshirae.(NBTHK Hozon paper)
Signature : Kanemasu Saku
Sue Koto: Ryo saku: Mino province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : silver and gold foiled bouble Habaki.
Blade length : 28.8 cm or 11.33 inches.
Sori : 1.0 cm or 0.39 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.5 cm or 0.98 inches.
Kasane : 0.6 cm or 0.23 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period, around Tenbun era.
Shape : Regular size, Saki-sori Tanto. There are Bo-Hi on both side.
Jigane : Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach and visible to see the texture.
Hamon : From Hamachi is Suguha, and then Gunome Midare.
Boshi is round shape.
Special feature : Kanemasu is a sword smith of Mino province.
Kanemasu means that increase one's property. It is said to bring good luck.
At a glance, this blade looks like Muramasa.
Unfortunately there is a Ware on the Mune. And there is a missing Hamon part.
But it is not serious. The Jigane is nice. We recommend this Tanto.
Koshirae :
Tsuba: Shakudo, Hamidashi Tsuba, dragon is engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira: Shibuichi, dragon is engraved with gold color.
Saya : Reddish brown.
Menuki : Shakudo, dragonfly is engraved.
