Dai : Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae(NBTHK Hozon Paper)
Signature : Fujiwara Yukinaga
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled double habaki
Blade length : 71.21 cm or 28.03 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.87 cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.98 cm or 0.77 inches.
Kasane : 0.67 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Edo Period circa Manji(1658-1660)
Shape : It is regular width and thickness. The kissaki is long. It is shape of Kanei era.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with JInie attached and the Jigane is well grained.
Hamon : Nie Deki suguha with mixture of Notare hamon.
Koashi is attached. Boshi is round and Hakikake brush up style.
Special feature : Fujiwara Yukinaga has descended the Bungo province work.
He was active during early Edo period. The Bungo-To is well know
for its nice Jigane and is highly valued.
In middle Edo period, the jigane becomes coarse and gets lower value.
However, this katana jigane is in good quality and overall excellent work.
There are some small Hakobore flaws(small crack on the sharp end)
however this could be repaired completely.
Koshirae : Tojyosashi Daisho Koshirae
(It is formal Daisho mounting set and the Kashira is Tsuno)
Tsuba : Round shape shakudo Kenjyo tsuba
Fuchi: Shakudo nanakoji kashira : Tsuno
Saya : Black Roiro saya
Menuki : Abumi design engraved in high relief with shakudo and copper plate.

Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.

Width at the hamachi : 2.46 cm or 0.96 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.63 cm or 0.64 inches.
Kasane : 0.58 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Early to late Muromachi period
Shape : It is slim and deep Sori and long kissaki wakizashi. The shape is elegant.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached.
There is stick like Utsuri (white fog) appearing
Hamon :Nie deki suguha with mixture of Komidare.
Special feature : There are many smith called Shikakoku existing.
It is the signature of the katana so it is difficult to distinguish if it is fake signature or not.
It is most likely sword around Mihara or Hoki group of Muromachi period.
There is some small rust and flaws but not serious.
