Dai : Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon Paper)(Origami)

Signature : Hizen koku Ju Fujiwara Tadahiro (2nd generation)

The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled Duble Habaki.
Blade length : 71.8 cm or 28.26 inches.
Sori : 1.1 cm or 0.43 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 2.96 cm or 1.16 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.21 cm or 0.87 inches.
Kasane : 0.71 cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Edo period around Kanbun era.
Shape : Wide and thick blade with shallow Sori. Suriage Machi Okuri Katana.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. This is beautiful Konuka-Hada.
Hamon : Nie Deki Suguha, Shimari Gokoro. In Ha, there are Nezumi-Ashi.

Special feature : Tadahiro the Second, born Heisakuro Hashimoto as a legitimate son of Tadayoshi the First.
Tadahiro was only19 years old when his father passed away in1632 but he was enough skillful to make sword at that time.
Tadahiro designated the Omi-Daijo in 1641, aged 29 and continued not only forging sword
but also supervised many pupils until his death in 1693, aged 80. He is known as a skillful swordsmith
almost all works are above the standard hizen-to. He had been made sword for a long period
of time to leave the largest number of swords in the swordsmiths of Hizen school.
He was good at both of Suguha and Choji-midare Hamon. Especially the beauty of jitetsu called
konuka-hada is appreciated as the best among the hizen-to.
His swords are ranked at the Owaza-mono because of the sharpness.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Round shape Iron Tsuba, Samurai is engraved with open work and gold color.
Mogarashi school. Late Edo period.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo plate, flower is engraved with gold color. Late Edo period.
Saya : Black Roiro Saya.
Menuki : Shakudo plate, chicken is engraved with gold color. Late Edo period.

The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled Duble Habaki.
Blade length : 54.6 cm or 21.5 inches.
Sori : 1.2 cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.69 cm or 1.05 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.1 cm or 0.82 inches.
Kasane : 0.57 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Edo period around Kanbun Era.
Shape : Regular size Wakizashi.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada wel grained with Jinie attach.
Hamon : Nie Deki Gunome Midare. There are wide Ashi. Boshi is round Hakukake shape.
In Ha, there are Sunagashi and fine Kinsuji.

Special feature : He was called Amame Gozaemon and studied at Yasusada.
After he studied at his master, and moved back to his place,
he was changed his name to Yasutomo which received one character from his master.
He helped to make sword for Daimyo Date Tsunamune who tried to make sword.
His swords are very similar with his master Yasusada and also Kotetsu.
This blade has deep Nioikuchi Gunome Midare with wide Ashi. Boshi is Kubire round shape.
This blade is quite nice.

Fuchikashira : Shakudo plate, flower is engraved with gold color. Late Edo period.
Saya : Black Roiro Saya.

Kozuka : Shakudo plate, flower is engraved with gold color. Late Edo period.
Kogatana : Shakudo plate, flower is engraved with gold color. Late Edo period.
