Katana Wakizashi

Dai : Katana in Koshirae(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Mumei (Katsuya Naohide)

Shinshinto: Chujo saku: Musashi perovince.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 69.6 cm or 27.40 inches.
Sori : 2.6 cm or 1.02 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.09 cm or 1.21 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.24 cm or 0.88 inches.
Kasane : 0.8 cm or 0.31 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : Wide and thick blade with Sori. Kissaki is rather long.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. It is clear Jigane.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Gunome Midare and Choji Midare up and down active temper line.
The Ha is bright. Boshi is Notare round shape.

Special feature : This Ubu Mumei blade. The NBTHK appraised as Katsuya Naohide.
Katsuya Naohide is a grandchild of the Taikei Naotane and a son of Jiro Taro Naokatsu.
He succeeded from late Edo period to Meiji period.
He had no choice but to wuit work because of Order of abandoning swords
for the former Samurai class. He lived in Edo. He passed away on September 6th, 1905 at age of 73.
This blade is nice Gunome and Choji Midare. The Habuchi is soft.
At a glance, this blade looks like Ichimonji.

Koshirae : Han Dachi Koshiare
Tsuba : Elliptical shape iron Tsuba, Chainese story is engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira, Kojiri and Kurikata : Yamagane.
Saya : Kawarinuri Saya. It looks like rocks.
Menuki : Iron, horse is engraved with gold color.
