Dai Sho Katana

Daisho : Bisyu Osafune Sukesada/Kasyu Ju Fujiwara Ienawa

Daisho in Shirasaya, with Koshirae.

Signature : Bisyu Osafune Sukesada.
Genko 3rd Year August

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.

The blade was polished
Habaki : Silver Single Foiled Habaki
Blade length : 69.39 cm or 27.31 inches.
Sori : 2.1 cm or 0.82 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.04cm or 1.19 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.11cm or 0.83 inches.
Kasane : 0.75cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi Period Around Year 1570
Shape : It is regular width and thickness. It is rather deep sori and Kissaki is long.
It is nice shape Katana.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada and Mokume Hada mixed. Jinie is well attached.
Hamon : Nie Deki Suguha style with Sunagashi, Ashi, Yo activity well attached.
Kissaki is Hakikake style irregular line hamon.

Special feature : This sword is made during late Muromachi Period and is one of the mass produced item.
It is a tang with one mekugi hole and the Hamachi area is in nice condition as well.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Round iron plate with guard and pattern curved. It is Tosho Tsuba from Mid-Edo Period.
Fuchikashira : Signature : Efu Jyu Nara Toshitsugu Saku.
Shakudo plate with Wave and Bird design engraved. It is Late Edo Period work.
Saya : Black Roiro Saya
Menuki : Shakudo plate with chrysanthemum design engraved and inlaid with gold dot inlay.

This sword belongs to regular saku ranking.

The blade was polished
Habaki : Silver Single Foiled Habaki
Blade length : 51.51 cm or 20.27 inches.
Sori : 1.8 cm or 0.70 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.90 cm or 1.14 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.0 cm or 0.78 inches.
Kasane : 0.63 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi Period work.
Shape : It is regular widt h and thickness. It is deep Sori nice shape Wakizashi.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attached. There is mixture of O-Hada.
Shirake Utsuri is appearing.
Hamon : Nie Deki Kogunome midare.

Special feature : Kashu Jyu Fujiwara Ienawa signature is genuine and from the style,
it is most likely a sword of late Muromachi period work.
Utsuri is appearing and it is pretty good work.

Koshirae :
