The blade was polished.
Habaki: silver single habaki.
Blade length : 66.5cm or 26.18 inches.
Sori : 1.5cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi :3.255 cm or 1.28 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.01 cm or 0.79 inches.
Kasane : 0.74 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Showa period.
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick healthy blade.
Jitetsu :Itame hada and mokume hada mixe with jinie
and chikei work and visible to see the texture.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha based active double, hamon
with uchinoke sunagashi and also kinsuji in Ha.
Boshi is hakikake style.
Special feature : Chounsai Emura is the head of the Okayama warden.
The maker of the sword will collect the convict who is in serious behavior
and made them make swords in the prison next to the head warden.
The polishing was also done in the sword factory.
Before, Nagamitsu and Emura has been easily confused
but Emura has been passed away at Showa 35th year.
The condition is different from those of Nagamitsu and the condition is strikingly good.
I have been looking in to Emura and Nagamitsu for a long time and I can say that while Nagamitsu has made many sword of different qualities, Emura has made all sword above the standard.
Some swords may even be better than the Yasukuni sword.
Tempering and and engraved signature was done by Emura.
There were signature such as 江-E-, 江村Emura-、長運斉江村作Chounsai Emura saku.
This blade remind us Go Yoshihiro shinshinto blade.
The jigane is wonderful active jigane and also unusual nice hamon like shinshinto high ranking sword maker.
