(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This Bisyu Osafune Sukesada(fake) belongs to Jyosaku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: silver single Habaki.
Blade length : 73.2 cm or 28.81 inches.
Sori : 1.6 cm or 0.63 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.02cm or 1.21 inches.
Width at the Kissaki 2.045 cm or 0.81 inches.
Kasane : 0.63cm or 0.25 inches.
Weight 865 grams.1,907 Pounds.
Era : The blade was made at late Edo period.
Shape:The blade is rather wide and thick long sword with suitable soro
and longer kissaki nice looking shape.
Hamon:Nioideki Cyoji midare hamon with ashi scatter soft nioikuchi.
boshi is midarekomi style.
Special feature :Bisyu Osafune Sukesada is called Kazuuchimono (mass productive item)
But this sword is forged well and nice Jigane and Hamon without Kizu,
bluster,openings. At Edo period, even though kazuuchi sukesada, the blade had high
reputation. It is difficult to say who made this sword.
The sword was polished by Sashikomi style so the Hamon is elegant bright hamon.
The blade is rather long size so it will be good Iai practice sword
and Kansyo(watch the blade and enjoy) The sword bakance is good
and weight is suitabe for Iai practice.
Koshirae:
Saya: Black roiro saya.
Tsuba:On the round iron tsuba, matu trees are engraved. by Busyu Jyu Masanaga.
Fuchikashira:On the syakudo wrinkles style plate, family crests are engraved with gold color and copper plate.
Menuki:A Chinese phoenix is engraved by syakudo plate with gold color.
