This sword belongs to regular saku ranking.
The blade was polished
Habaki:Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 67.2 cm or 26.45 inches.
Sori : 2.5 cm or 0.98 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.0 cm or 1.18 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.94 cm or 0.76 inches.
Kasane : 0.64 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period Eisyo era.
Shape : The blade is Ubu nakago Katateuchi style with deep sori nice looking shape.
Jitetsu : Itame had and mokume had mixed with jinie attach and chikei work. Some parts lose had appear.
Hamon : Niedeki cyoji midare and gunome midare mixed.
Boshi is midarekomi style.
Special feature : Tadamitsu was a swordmisth of Osafune School in Bizen province.
The first was in the Namboku-cho period and later generations continued.
It is the accepted view that the texture of jitetsu forged by Tadamitsu superior to the others in the same period.
At a glance the blade looks like Sukesada but observe the sword well the blade is Norimitsu or Tadamitsu.
Several swordsmiths used the name Tadamitsu for generations in Osafune School of Bizen province.
The First Tadamitsu worked in the Kamakura period noted in an old document.
Survived their works were forged in Namboku-cho to Muromachi period.
In the Muromachi period, most of their katanas were in form of Uchi-gatana, the blade length is about 63cm that was popular in that peirod.
Fine itame-hada bearing jinie and broadish suguha-hamon were their tradition.
And they made many swords in middle Muromachi period, and late Muromachi period on demand.
This blade has some rough skin parts, but the blade shape is very nice with deep Sori.
The blade is Ubu nakago with deep sori which is the original shape.
We enjoy the typical Uchigatana style which was very popular shape at that period.
