Blade length : 75.7cm or 29.8inches.
Sori : 2.1cm or 0.83inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.03cm or 1.19inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.14cm or 0.84inches.
Kasane : 0.99cm or 0.39inches.
Era : Late Edo Period
Shape : It is wide and thick long katana and it is rather strong lookng.
It is shallow sori long kissaki nice shape katana.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached, It is clear black jigane.
Hamon : From the hamachi it is nioi deki suguha. It is choji midare
with some gunome mixture. Ashi is well attached and yo activities are also seen.
Special feature : Bizen Osafune Sukesada is a sword smith from early Muromachi peirod to late Edo period.
It is sword smith group that has continued until late Edo period.
This piece was made from late Edo period. At first glance it reminds of Yokoyama Sukekane.
The jigane is good and long . It is flawless highest quality piece of work.
Koshirae :
Tsuba : Round shape iron tsuba with some kizami and openwork. There is gold inlay. It is Nanban tsuba.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo nanakoji plate with Shishi dog. Late Edo Period.
Saya : Black Roiro saya
Menuki : Shishi design with gold inlay(It could be pure gold.)
