Habaki : Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 63.63 cm or 25.05 inches.
Sori : 1.56 cm or 0.61 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.70 cm or 1.06 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.74 cm or 0.68 inches.
Kasane : 0.64 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period. Daiei era.
Shape : The blade is about 3 cm Machiokuri and regular sized with deep sori and longer kissaki.
Bo-Hi is engraved both sides of the blade.
Jitetsu :Itame had and mokume had mixed with jinie attach
and utsuri appear and also chikei work well grained nice jigane.
Hamon : Koniedeki Cyoji midair nd kogunome midair mixed with small ash and Yo.
Boshi is midair komi which is unusual shape as Sukesada.
Special feature : Sukesada school was working at middle to late Muromachi period.
Generally speaking, The subject which mentioned Zokumyo(popular name)
on the tang were ordered by Daimyo or quite high ranking samurai.
Yosozaemon, Genbei Jyo Sukesada and so on.
At Bizen school was devised 3 sections like Bizen Kuni Jyu Osafune Sukesada and
mass productive Bisyu Osafune Sukesada and also Zokumyo sukesada.
Mass productive Bisyu Osahune Sukesada was made by much Shingane(inside steal)
and covered by nice thin kawagane(surface steal) which swords were made for
demanding consumers(samurai) and also exporting to China.
These swords downgraded assessment of Bizen sword value.
Bizen Kuni Osahune Sukesada is good value of the Sukesada.
Sword connoisseur judge these mass productive blades whether the sword is genuine or not is very difficult.
Because mass productive swords were cut the name on the tang by each craftsman .
Sukesada wakizashi and Kiyomitsu at that period are quite few.
If you see the Sukesada with muromachi period era, you had better to doublet the signature.
