This sword Chikugo Jyu Kuniharu Saku belongs to Jyo-Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Copper single habaki.
Blade length : 72.9 cm or 28.7 inches.
Sori : 1.6 cm or 0.62 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.32 cm or 1.30 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.31 cm or 0.90 inches.
Kasane : 0.76 cm or 0.29 inches.

Shape : The blade is wide and thick with bo-hi is engraved on both sides of the blade.
Jigane : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach nice texture.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midare and togari gunome midare mixed with thick nioikuchi. Boshi is midarekomi style.
special feature : Chikugo Jyu Kuniharu was born Syowa 4th (1929)at Fukuoka prefecture.
He studied making sword technique from his father who is well known swordsmith Komiya Shiro Kunimitsu.
He got the permission for making sword at Syowa 29th (1945)from
Japanese government Cultural Affairs Agency and also many prizes from
sword contest like Nyusen prize, Doryoku syo prize, Ginsyo prize and so on.
This sword is thick Nioikuchi Gunome Midare and Togari Gunome Midare.
The blade remind as Kanemoto, but from the thick nioikuchi is his own distinctive style.
The blade is very good balance and suitable for both Kansyo(viewing) and Iai practice.
If shaken the bkade, quiver sound is hearing.
