Signature : Gashu Ju Kanewaka (Shirouemon)
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki :copper Kasyu style Habaki.
Blade length : 66.8 cm or 26.2 inches.
Sori : 1.3 cm or 0.51 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.1cm or 1.22 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.26cm or 0.88 inches.
Kasane : 0.76 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Edo period Kanbun era.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick with suitable sori
and longer kissaki nice looking shape.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach and also chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki Gunome midair and square shape hamon mixed
and in Ha, sunagashi, small kinsuji work.
Boshi is round shape hakikake style.
Special feature : Kasyu kanewaka started from Keicyo era to late Edo period by long generations.
This sword belongs to 3rd generation kanewaka.
First generation was called Kaga Masamune and well welcomed from Kaga Maeda
Daimyo's samurai. From ancient period, if a samurai has Kanewaka, even though poor samurai,
high ranking samurai says I give you my daughter as your bride.
The blade is nice shape and fantastic clean Jigane and also sosyu style active square shape hamon
remind us first generation Kanewaka.
You do not get tired wonderful sword which looks like Muramasa.
Koshirae :
Tsuba :On the oval shape iron stub, open wide mimi
and engraved peony flowers with gold color. Higo school.
Fuchikashira :On the iron plate, some flowers are engraved with gloss color.
Saya : black roar saya.
Menuki : The menuki looks like horse implements.
