This sword belongs to Saijyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki : gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 64.24 cm or 25.29 inches.
Sori : 1.35cm or 0.53 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.13cm or 1.23 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.42 cm or 0.95 inches.
Kasane : 0.85cm or 0.33 inches.
Era : Edo period Kanei era.
Shape : The blade is rather short size with wide
and thick with long kissaki nice looking shape.
Jigane :Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach beautiful Konuka hada.
Hamon :Niedeki Gunome midare with thick nioikuchi and in Ha, there are many sunagashi ,Kinsuji scatter.
Boshi is round shape with thick nioikuchi.
special feature: Tadakuni the First made this sword. He was born in 1598 as a son of Yoshiie. Yoshiie was also a swordsmith of Hizen province. Tadakuni was a pupil of Tadayoshi the First who consolidated the foundations of Hizen-to. Tadakuni was designated Harima Daijo in 1634 at the age of 37. At the same time he started to make sword for the domain of Ogi in Hizen province. He passed away in 1691, aged 94. He was very good at gunome-midare hamon with deep nioi-kuchi and his sword was ranked at Shinto-Josaku. Even though the blade is rather short,
the blade is Jyuyo Token.
It means the blade quality is marvelous and wonderful quality.
Especially on the nice jigane hizen konuka hada, very active gunome midare
with thick nioikuchi and soft Habuchi like the summer clouds Kinsuji and sunagashi a lot.
The blade is very healthy and polshed by top ranking polisher.
Koshirae :
Tsuba :On the oval shape iron Tsuba, rise up the rim(mimi)
and engraved plant and vine.
Fuchikashira:On the syakudo nanako plate,
autumn flowers and plant are engraved.
Saya:brown red color saya, engrave Inro kizami saya.
Menuki : On the iron plate, some plant design is painted.
