This Hoki kami Fujiwara Hirotaka belongs to Jyo-Jyo saku cutting test ranking. ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 69.06 cm or 27.18 inches.
Sori : 1.11 cm or 0.43 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.06 cm or 1.20 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.08 cm or 0.81 inches.
Kasane : 0.63 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Edo period, around Meireki era(1655-1657).
Shape : Rather wide and thick blade with small Sori.
Jitetsu :Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. The Jigane is beautiful.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha base with Ko-Gunome Midare.
In Ha, there are Sunagashi and Ashi. Boshi is round Yakisage shape.

Special feature : Hirotaka was a swordsmith of Echizen Shimosaka school,
in about Meireki era.(about 1655)
He received also Hoki-daijo and Hoki no kami.
He studied under Domoto Kanetane who followed in the wake of Echizen Kanenori.
Hirotaka blades was well-known their cut well, and Hirotaka was ranked as Owazamono.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Round shape iron Tsuba with open work.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo, pheasant? is engraved with gold color.
Saya : Black Roiro Saya.
Menuki : Brass, the animal and plants are engraved.
