The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Blade length : 73.4 cm or 28.89 inches.
Sori : 2.6 cm or 1.02 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.52 cm or 1.38 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.47 cm or 0.97 inches.
Kasane : 0.80 cm or 0.31 inches.
Era : Gendai.
Shape : The blade has bo-hi and the blade is wide(3,52cm) and thick with deep sori
and ikubi kissaki which remind us Kamakura period gorgeous healthy blade.
Jitetsu : Koitame had well grained with jinie attach thickly and small chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki Cyoji midair hamon up and down with ash, yo and also sunagashi, kinsuji work.
Special feature : The first generation Horii Taneyoshi started from late edo period who educated Gassan Sadakazu.
second generation was Horii Taneaki and 3rd generation was Horii Toshihide who made many swords during war time and achieved high reputation.
4th generation is Horii Nobuhide who was called Horii masamitsu and he was born at Taisyo 9th(1920) at Hokkaido Muroran.
His father was called as an artist residence from the Muroran steel company and made swords and studied.
His son suited from his father a lot and got a lot of prizes.
This sword was a sword which is a prize -winning sword (Syoreisyo prize #14th Shinsaku Meito Ten Syoreisyo prize.
