Width at the Kissaki : 2.06 cm or 0.81 inches.
Kasane : 0.58 cm or 0.23 inches.
Era : Edo period Kanbun
Shape : It is 3cm suriage(cut shorten tang) blade. It is regular size width and thickness. It is Kanbun shinto blade with shallow sori.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached. It is beautiful clear hada.
Hamon : Nie base gnome midare style with sunagashi seen in the ha.
Boushi is curve and round ended. The hamon reminds you of Kotetsu.
Special feature : Houki no kami Fujiwara Hirotaka has been in Echizen
Shimosaka school whom he received the name Houki Daisho at that time.
First he received Houki Daishou and later on he has moved his name to Houkinokami. His style is no different from this piece.
It had deep nioiguchi with many irregular gunome line. It is in well-made piece.
The signature is engraved as Echizen Jyuu HOuki daisho HIrotaka, Echizen Jyuu Houki no kami Fujiwara HIroka or other signature.
From my personal view, he is excellent wordsmith.
This blades has some suriage and machiokuri.
The hori design is a dragon that is chasing a ball. It is excellent piece with no kizu or flow.
