Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

The blade was polished .
Blade length : 69.8 cm or 27.48 inches.
Sori : 2.0 cm or 0.78 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.98 cm or 1.17 inches.
Wide at the Kissaki : 1.84 cm or 0.72 inches.
Kasane : 0.70 cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Middle Muromachi period.
Shape : This blade is regular sized Katana with Sori and rather long Kissaki.
Jitetsu : Itame hada grained with Jinie and Chikei attach.
Hamon : Koniedeki , and Nioideki. Around the Hamachi is Suguha, and change to Kogunome midare and looks like a Sanbonsugi.
And Shirake-Utsuri appear. Boushi is Midarekomi style.
Special feature : Kanemoto and Kanesada are praised
as the two master swordsmiths representing Sue-Seki School.
There are several opinions about Kanemoto's origin. It is said he was
an Akasaka-Senjuin swordsmith influenced by Seki School.
From ancient times famous warriors wore Kanesada because of sharpness.
This blade looks like a Kanemoto the 1st.
And also the signature is similar to Kanemoto the 1st.
Koshirae :
Tsuba : Mokko Tsuba made with Shakudo plate.
Kojiri, Kurikata, Fuchikashira : On the Shakudo plate, Kamon (family crests) and waves are engraved.
Saya : Decorated with Blue shell.
Menuki : On the copper plate, dragon is engraved with gold color Iroe.
