This blade forged by Kawachi Kami Kanesada belongs to Jo saku ranking.
The blade is polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled single Habaki.
Blade length : 66,5 cm or 26.08 inches.
Sori : 1,6 cm or 0.63 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the Hamachi : 2,81cm or 1.1 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2,05 cm or 0.8 inches.
Kasane : 0,6 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Edo period around Genroku era (A.D.1688~1704)
Shape : The blade is regular size with shallow curve elegant shape.
Jigane : Itame-hada well grained with Jinie attach and Chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki Gunome Midare up and down. Boshi is round shape Hakikake style.
Special feature : Kawachi Kami Kanesada was also called Monju Saburo. He came to Edo around Genroku era and made many Yari, Naginata.
He generally cut his signature as Washu Tegai Kanenaga Matuyo Kawachi Kami Kanesada as a lineage of Yamato Tegai school.
Generally Katana are rare as the blade forged by him.
This Katana is having excellent condition and elegant shape.
Koshirae : All matching Handachi style Koshirae.
Saya : Black Ishimeji Saya, so many clouds are carved.
Tsuba : On the round shape brass Tsuba, waves are carved.
Fuchikashira : Kojiri : Kurikata : On Shakudo plate, the design of waves are carved.
Menuki : Masks of Noh, Okina (old man) and Okame (lady not so cute) are carved on Shakudo plate. Both Okina and Okame dances to celebrate in traditinal Japanese festival.
