Blade length : 69.7 cm or 27.17 inches.
Sori : No Sori
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.18 cm or 0.86 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.39 cm or 0.55 inches.
Kasane : 0.43 cm or 0.17 inches.
Era : Modern Blade
Shape : It is rather narrow suguha katana.
The end is Kamasu Kissaki style.
Jitetsu : Konashime hada well grained with jinie attached.
It is clear jigane.
Hamon : Nie structure suguha with some koashi attached.
Special feature : Miyaguchi Ikkansai Koretoshi is the son of Miyaguchi Ikkansai Toshihiro who was one of the most skillful Showa sword smiths.
Toshihiro has received swordsmith signature "Yasuhiro" from the War Minister.
Koretoshi has been active at Ikebukuro area.
I used to visit him and discussed about swords. That was 40 years ago.
I remember that there was a huge water tank at the porch with gold fish in it.
This piece was made by my mentor who has imitated the sword of Todaiji Shosoin Treasure Sword in Nara prefecture now.
There is some small kizu however it is rare and wonderful piece.
