Katana in Shirasaya with Army Gunto Koshirae.
Signature : Mumei(unsigned)
The blade was polished by good polisher.
habaki:gold color single habaki.
Blade length : 64.4 cm or 25.35 inches.
Sori : 1.7 cm or 0.66 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.13cm or 1.23 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.10 cm or 0.82 inches.
Kasane : 0.74 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era :Syowa war time(during world war2)
Shape : The blade is wide and thick with ubuha healthy blade.
Jitetsu :Muji style Nashiji style.
Hamon : Nioideki gunome midare.
Special feature : From the texture and Hamon, the blade looks oil temper sword.
The blade was polished by good polisher,
so the Jigane looks Nashiji style.
The blade had signature on the tang
but unfortunately someone removed the signature.
Even though the blade was made by oil temper sword,
the beautiful polish was done.
Koshirae: Gunto Koshirae.
Showa 18th army settled formal sword mounting
(common name is 3 siki(style) Sanshiki.
The Tsukaito was covered by hard Urushi
in order to protecting wet(rainfall and snow).
Nagamitsu and Emura sword makers used this kind of mounting.
