Signature: Mumei (Chikushi Ryokai)
The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold single foiled habaki
Blade length : 65.5cm or 25.78 inches.
Sori : 1.7cm or 0.66 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.63cm or 1.03 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.59 cm or 0.62 inches.
Kasane : 0.64 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Early Muromachi period.
Shape : It is O-Suriage mumei and there is rather deep Sori.
It is rather thick and graceful shape blade.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached. There is some flaw.
Hamon : Konie structure suguha with some komidare mix.
Boshi is same midare komi style.
Special feature : Chikushi Ryokai has derived from Rai school and has moved to Kyushu Chikushi Rokai.
The name comes from the sword smith group which moved to Chikushi, Kyushu. HIsanobu and
Yoshizane were successful. Their works are somewhat similar to Rai school however the jigane is irregular.
This piece is named Chikushi Ryokai. There is deep sori that has presence of Ko-to blades.
